Ahimsa House currently has no open paid positions. However, we are currently seeking an Intern (see description below).

Program Services Intern

Openings: 1

• Start: Recruiting for Fall 2008/Spring 2009
• Length: Minimum of one semester
• Location: This will be a work-from-home based position with some commuting to the northeastern and/or central Metro Atlanta area.
• Hours: Flexible
• Wage: Unpaid

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work closely with Program Services Coordinator and President on one or more special projects that may include:

• Calling veterinarians and boarding facilities statewide to discuss Ahimsa House and
• establish/strengthen working relationships
• Networking with social services and animal protection organizations statewide
• Revising and implementing foster home recruitment plan
• Developing resource database/map by county
• Writing content for Ahimsa House newsletter and press releases for external media outlets

Additional opportunities may include:

• Attending Board meetings
• Attending Family Violence Task Force meetings
• Assisting with special events
• Assisting with volunteer coordination
• Assisting with transport

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including ability to manage data in Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
